Reconnection and Revitalization in Today’s Psychological World

October 13 & 14, 2023 | Seattle University, Seattle, WA

Washington State Psychological Association invites program proposals for the 2023 NW Psychological Fall Convention. This year the convention theme is Reconnection and Revitalization in Today’s Psychological World. We invite you to be a part of this annual event known for its excellent programming addressing issues facing Washington psychologists.

Read through these guidelines carefully to ensure that your application meets the criteria. Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 for consideration. Late and/or incomplete applications will not be reviewed. View our FAQ's page here.

Presenters for the Fall Convention will receive an honorarium of $250 per CE hour, or a total of $750 for a 3 hour CE.

About the NW Psychological Fall Convention
The NW Psychological Fall Convention is an annual event combining networking, continuing education, and WSPA membership events. Now taking place each fall, the Convention typically includes reputed speakers and presenters, student poster presenters, exhibitors, sponsors, award winners and guests. The 2023 Fall Convention will be held October 13 & 14, 2023, at Seattle University in Seattle, WA.

Application Guidelines
To participate in this conference, please submit a compelling CE Application that supports the field of psychology. WSPA is committed to supporting the personal and professional lives of psychologists throughout their lifespan, from student status through retirement. Presentations for all experience levels (introductory, intermediate, advanced) are welcome, though content must be at the post-doctoral level to qualify for Psychology CE credit. 

WSPA is committed to diversity and multiculturalism. All presentations are expected to address the needs of a diverse population. Presenters are required to explain, as part of their proposal, how their workshop addresses and/or integrates diversity issues into the topic. 

WSPA expects all workshops to contain elements of ethics and/or cultural competency. However, in order for a workshop to count as Ethics CE, ninety percent of the content must address ethics and/or cultural competency. As an APA-approved CE provider, WSPA adheres to their guidelines, and no partial credit is given.  Please note that, with few exceptions, in order to be eligible for APA CE credit, the main presenter must be a doctoral-level professional.

WSPA supports and strongly encourages programs that allow for a collaborative style, address cutting edge research and create opportunities for thoughtful discussion. Applications should be submitted online at this link.

Length of presentations
3-hour workshops will be held on both Friday & Saturday, October 13th  & 14th .  By submitting an application for either of these days, you are acknowledging that you will be available to present on your assigned day.  

Deadline
Submissions are due no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
Presenters will be notified in mid-July of their application acceptance. In submitting an application, presenters accept responsibility for the time scheduled for their presentation and agree that they will meet all set deadlines.


Application Schedule

  • Call for CE applications sent out Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
  • All acceptances for CE applications will be sent out by Mid-July 2023.
  • Completed presentations and materials need to be submitted by Thursday, September 29, 2023, 2 weeks in advance of Convention
